The Handmaid's Tale: Watch the new full-length trailer

Elisabeth Moss and Joesph Fiennes star in Hulu's adaptation of Margaret Atwood's 1985 novel

Remember everyone: it’s just a TV show. (Haha, right? Right?)

Watch the new full-length trailer for Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale and see if — though it has been adapted from the classic Margaret Atwood 1985 novel of the same name — it hits just a little too close to home these days.

“We never wanted the show to be this relevant,” star and producer Elisabeth Moss told EW last fall.

Set in the dystopian Republic of Gilead — a totalitarian theocracy in what was once the United States, where women have been stripped of their personal rights — the series finds Moss’ character, Offred, in a class called handmaids, females whose sole role in society is to reproduce. It’s a gripping and tense and incredibly disturbing story.

In addition to Moss, the series features Alexis Bledel, Samira Wiley, and Joseph Fiennes.

The Handmaid’s Tale debuts on Hulu on April 26. Watch the new trailer above.
