It’s rare nowadays for Adam Sandler to make a movie without his buddy Kevin James. So, while doing the promotional rounds for their latest work, the Sandy Wexler costars paired up on The Late Late Show Wednesday night for a soccer dad sketch with host James Corden.

James and Corden tried to one-up each other as the dads with the most pep while rooting for their kids during a youth soccer match. What began as simple cheers quickly escalated to smack talk, banners, pom-poms, a DJ podium, a karaoke cover of Joe Esposito’s “You’re the Best Around,” and more.

“Did Charlie skip a grade or something?” James asks of Corden’s kid in the sketch. “I’m just saying, he’s a little smaller than the rest of the guys.”

By the time James led a marching band into the stands, Sandler emerged as the referee to announce the soccer game had ended an hour earlier, causing both dads to frantically search for their kids.
