Pretty Little Liars final episodes will feature more than one wedding

Pretty Little Liars showrunner I. Marlene King has been promising wedding bells in the final episodes of the series for awhile now, but we had no idea just how loudly they’d be ringing.

“We’ve always said that there was going to be at least one wedding, but I can promise you that in the next three episodes, there will be two more weddings on the show,” King revealed during the Pretty Little Liars/Famous in Love panel at ATX Television Festival in Austin, Texas, on Thursday.

So, who will those pairings be? Are Hanna and Caleb going to make it more official than cigar wrappers? Is Aria finally going to say “I do” to Ezra? Will Emison commit beyond agreeing to raise a kid together? And will the wait finally be over for Spencer and Toby to understand that they are absolutely destined to be together?

Well, King didn’t say. But what she did do was throw the conversation to costume designer Cameron Dale, noting how much work all these ceremonies were for her.

“It was scary! It’s so secret — I was trying to talk to designers and I was like, ‘I can’t say anything!’ Dale explained. “I’m just always so scared to reveal anything.”

And it wasn’t just bridal gowns, either. “Some wore bridesmaids’ dresses,” King teased.

Those weren’t the only PLL finale teases during the ATX panel. Executive producer Lisa Cochran-Neilan also talked about the final scene that was shot… and revealed that the moment (which you can see the cast discuss in the video above) comes at the top of the second hour of the two-hour episode.

“I hope you guys understand in the finale, it’s business as usual. We’re scheduling it, but these ladies that you’ve grown to love, they came to us and they asked us if the last scene of the last day of the last episode, if they could all be in the last shot… In our shooting schedule, it was the last shot,” Cochran-Neilan recalled. “It will be my favorite moment because everybody was there. It was very late — or, shall I say very early in terms of time — but I will tell you that there was a sincere feeling of closure at that moment. Everybody was there. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place.”

She continues, “That came from the ladies. It’s important for you to know that that was important for them to end that way as a group.”

“We built something very special and you guys are all a part of it,” King added, addressing the fans. “The show won’t air after three more episodes, but we’ll always have this. All of us.”
