One door closes, and another opens. EW has confirmed that Netflix is nearing a deal for a 13-episode series order for Insatiable, an hourlong drama starring Disney Channel alum Debby Ryan (Jessie, The Suite Life on Deck).

The darkly comic project, which hails from CBS Television Studios, was previously ordered to pilot at the CW but not picked up to series.

Written and executive produced by Lauren Gussis (Dexter, Once Upon a Time), Insatiable centers on a disgruntled civil lawyer turned beauty pageant coach (Dallas Roberts) who takes a vindictive, bullied teen (Ryan) under his wing. The project is inspired by the true story of Bill Alverson, whom The New York Times once called "The Pageant King of Alabama."

Deadline Hollywood first reported the news about Insatiable.
