Ozark trailer: Jason Bateman and Laura Linney are in over their heads

Jason Bateman is not joking around in Ozark. In fact, things have turned deadly serious for him.

In this new Netflix drama, Bateman plays Marty Byrde, a financial manager in Chicago who also happens to be laundering money for a Mexican drug lord named Del (Esai Morales). Due to an unfortunate turn of events, he’s going to have to move his wife, Wendy (Laura Linney), and two kids to the Lake of the Ozarks to launder much more money for Del, which is when everything really spins out of control.

Netflix has released the official full trailer, which contains guns, screeching cars, physical struggles, cold cash, and a looming sense of dread. As Marty is told: “Why do I have this feeling we both know that you’d be better off dead?”

Ozark debuts July 21 on Netflix.
