The internet finally mashed up Game of Thrones and Hamilton

Three things the internet seems to love above all are Hamilton, Game of Thrones, and mashups. YouTube user Jason Feifer recently united all three elements in a mashup video that rewrites Hamilton‘s opening number to be about Westeros warriors like Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen.

Although Hamilton depicts one of the Founding Fathers of America as he goes through personal and political tumult in the wake of the American Revolution and Game of Thrones focuses on a wide-ranging cast of medieval fantasy characters as they fight off rival houses for the Iron Throne, there are some similarities between the two stories. For instance, Feifer takes Lin-Manuel Miranda’s famous opening line (“how does a bastard, orphan, son of a whore and a Scotsman, dropped in the middle of a forgotten spot in the Caribbean, by providence impoverished in squalor, grow up to be a hero and a scholar?”) and transforms it into a not-dissimilar description of Jon Snow’s origin: “How does a bastard son of a Stark and a Dragon, born in the middle of a forgotten spot in Dornish mountains, by providence subjected to endless slander, grow up to be an undead Lord Commander?”
