The Originals: CW president says there have been 'many conversations' about potential Hope spin-off

For a while, there have been rumors of a potential Hope spin-off coming out of The Originals‘ fifth and final season. After all, the season 4 finale saw Hope attend Alaric and Caroline’s school for the gifted, and with the time jump heading into season 5, the character (now played by Danielle Rose Russell) will be 15. In the past, showrunner Julie Plec has talked about her interest in the world of the boarding school, though nothing concrete has come of it.

During Wednesday’s executive session at TCA, CW president Mark Pedowitz answered a few questions about a potential spin-off, in which he revealed, “Julie and I and the studio have had many a discussion. Nothing has come out of it yet, but…I’m hopeful.” He later added, “There’s been many conversations about the character of Hope, but again, it’s too early in the process and I want to let Julie deal with this final season.”

The Originals will return for its final season in 2018.
