James Corden gives 'Despacito' a Trump-inspired remix

“Despacito” just went from being the song of the summer to the song about the summer.

James Corden put a pop culture and political twist on the most-watched music video on YouTube in recapping everything that’s happened during the warmer months. “Song of summer/ Okay, I know the song of summer’s ���Despacito’/ and I’m singing slowly just like ‘Despacito’/ But this song’s about more than just ‘Despacito’/ Song of summer,” the television host sang on Wednesday’s Late Late Show, using the melody to Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s hit track.

Among other topics, Corden recapped “North Korean threats of aggression,” Megyn Kelly’s one-on-one interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the birth of Beyoncé’s twins, Harry Styles’ first blockbuster role in Dunkirk, the debut of Wonder Woman, and rompers for men.

When he got to President Donald Trump, Corden tackled his statements about there being “very fine people on both sides” of the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

“Donald Trump made comments that brought him shame/ Kept saying that both sides are to blame/ After denouncing the neo-Nazis slowly, slowly,” the host sang. “Plus, he hired Anthony Scarmooch/ who thought Reince Priebus was a total douche/ But that never paid off and Spicer got laid off/ No one in that White House gonna last long.”
