Good Omens: See the first photo of David Tennant and Michael Sheen in costume

In 1990, Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett teamed up to write Good Omens, a novel in which a demon and an angel work together to try to prevent the end of the world. Now, nearly two decades later, the apocalyptic comedy novel will be adapted into a six-part series for Amazon, written entirely by Gaiman, who will also be serving as showrunner.

And Monday morning, on the first day of shooting — Praise the lord! Or the anti-Christ! — Gaiman tweeted the first photo of the show’s leading duo, David Tennant as the demon Crowley and Michael Sheen as the angel Aziraphale.

Please, take a moment to appreciate the shoulder-length red weave on Tennant (does this mean the Doctor is finally ginger?) He’s rocking a vest and tied necklace with the confidence of a man who knows he can pull it off. The belt buckle says, “I came to this bar to down four bourbons and get in a fight,” and the sunglasses say, “And I’m still going to go home with your girlfriend.” Tennant hasn’t oozed sexual charisma like this since he played Casanova.

Sheen’s bookish Aziraphale has a different sort of sex appeal, but it’s still there, undeniably. Just look at the Bill Nye bowtie and Spike-from-Buffy bleached blonde hair. Master of Sex is right.

Good Omens is scheduled to launch on Amazon Prime Video in 2019 before airing on BBC Two at a later date.
