SpongeBob SquarePants: See the first trailer for the Halloween stop-motion special

All right, stop! Okay, you can resume motion. Because that’s exactly what SpongeBob SquarePants did over and over again to bring you the Halloween stop-motion special.

Debuting (when else but) Friday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on Nickelodeon, the half-hour special titled SpongeBob SquarePants: The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom unspools the tale of the Flying Dutchman (voiced by Brian Doyle-Murray), who arrives in Bikini Bottom all revved up to scare everyone. SpongeBob, however, finds eerie things funny, so this may prove to be a bit of a challenge.

EW brings you the first trailer for The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom — the show’s first return to stop-motion since 2012’s It’s a SpongeBob Christmas! — and you will find the underwater world truly in the Halloween haunted spirit. Sandy’s treedome has been turned into a mad scientist’s lab, Mr. Krabs’ restaurant has been renamed The Horrors of the Chum Bucket (which showcases scenes of Plankton torturing food), and the Chum Bucket is retitled The Horrors of the Krusty Krab (which teaches customers that Mr. Krabs turns customers into Krabby Patties). On the costume front: SpongeBob is a flower, Mr. Krabs is a dollar bill, and Squidward is… himself.

Watch the video above to see something you never thought you’d see before: SpongeBob massaging the actual brain of Patrick. It’s somewhere between delightful and defrightful.

SpongeBob SquarePants, which debuted in 1999, is currently airing its 11th season.
