Kevin Can Wait star Leah Remini happy to be 'welcomed back' by fans

She also responded to a few critics of the premiere

Leah Remini has never been one to sit quietly — and that doesn’t just apply to conversations about Scientology. The actress tweeted throughout the season 2 premiere of Kevin Can Wait on Monday, thanking fans and also addressing the premiere’s controversial handling of season 1 star Erinn Hayes’ character’s death.

When one viewer said they were “disgusted” by the casting change and hoped the show would be canceled, Remini responded and referenced her A&E series, Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath. “And put 299 people out of work? Good wish,” she snapped. “Disgusted?! I have another show u should watch on Tuesday on @AETV see if you get disgusted then.”

When another fan said she didn’t feel badly for Hayes for getting “fired,” Remini defended her. “She is lovely and funny. And I was looking forward to working with her again. She is on another show on Amazon. So blessings to us all.” Later, the actress said she hoped the show would reveal how Kevin’s wife Donna died.

But, for the most part, Remini tweeted that it was “nice to be welcomed back” by fans, and addressed numerous the supporters of the show and, presumably, of King of Queens, on which Remini and James played a married couple for nine seasons from 1998 until 2007.

It appears as if Remini plans to make live-tweeting a regular occurrence:
