Cobra Kai trailer: William Zabka takes on a protégé in Karate Kid sequel series

There’s a new sensei in town — and he could care less about “wax on, wax off.”

After serving as the antagonist of the original Karate Kid, William Zabka’s Johnny Lawrence steps to the center of the mat as the protagonist of in the new YouTube Red series Cobra Kai. As evidenced in the latest trailer, the Karate Kid legacy continues with Lawrence reopening his old dojo and taking on his very own protégé.

And there are three rules at Cobra Kai: No fear, no pain, and unlike past senseis, Lawrence doesn’t “give a s—” how you scrub his windows.

While he doesn’t appear in the trailer, Lawrence’s old rival Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) will return in the series, which premieres later this year.
