And the new star of The Bachelorette is...

Just call this new season The Bachelorette: Becca’s Revenge. To the surprise of absolutely no one, ABC announced tonight on the live After the Final Rose special that Becca Kufrin — the woman Arie Luyendyk Jr. proposed to and then brutally dumped on camera a few weeks later in The Bachelor’s season 22 finale — will be the one handing out the roses when The Bachelorette returns on May 28. “I want to be the best damn Bachelorette I can be,” she said.

The decision to try reality TV love again was “easy, honestly, once I got past the initial heartbreak,” Kufrin told Harrison.

Kufrin thought she had found her happily-ever-after with Luyendyk after he proposed in Cusco, Peru, in the Bachelor finale, but as viewers saw in the third hour (!) of the March 5 finale, Arie pulled what is known in Bachelor Nation as “a Mesnick” and changed his mind a few weeks later. He then ended his engagement to Kufrin and asked his runner-up, Lauren Burnham, to take him back. (As you can imagine, viewers were not amused.)

Though Kufrin is apparently Ready to Find Love Again™, she’s still irked about how Arie chose to end their relationship. “It was embarrassing the way he broke up with me with the full cameras and crew around,” she told PEOPLE. During the After the Final Rose, Becca met a few of her future suitors, including a suave gentleman named Lincoln, and a guy named Bradley who arrived on stage leading a horse. “When you fall off the horse, you gotta get back up again,” he told Becca. “I brought you this horse, and I want to be the man who helps you back up again.”

So what say you, rose lovers? Is Becca the Bachelorette you hoped for? (I was rooting for Kendall, but I guess getting Mesnick’d on TV trumps a quirky taxidermy hobby.) Post your thoughts below!
