Kristen Bell and Veronica Mars costars reunite to ask fans for help

Wanna help get Veronica Mars back on the air? Then…this isn’t the campaign video for you — and you’re not the only one disappointed.

In a YouTube clip posted Thursday, stars of the UPN/CW teen mystery drama appear to be campaigning to bring the beloved cult series back to the screen, until Kristen Bell (The Good Place) and Jason Dohring (The Originals) realize that Ryan Hansen has actually recruited them for a very different reason.

“So the network is finally considering bringing back our beloved show, but it’s going to take something very special to push them over the edge,” begins Bell under the impression she’s talking about the 2004 hit series in which she played the title character, a teen private eye.

“Clever stunt campaigns have always been such a huge part of getting a show renewed,” adds Hansen while Dohring and Bell agree that sending letters (and maybe even Mars Bars) could help their cause. But before they get any further the penny drops and Bell realizes Hansen’s true intention is to have them plead for a second season of his YouTube Red series Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television. (Cue the expletives and storming off from his former costars).

“I thought I hated you before but I really hate you know,” snaps The Good Place star before leaving.

Hansen’s friendships may be in jeopardy, but maybe his show will be renewed — so not all bad? Watch the clip in full above to decide if he deserves a second chance.
