Barry and NoHo Hank form 'Team Badass' in Barry season 2 trailer

Welcome to Team Badass.

In the new trailer for Barry season 2, Bill Hader’s titular hitman-turned-actor is dealing with a lot: a new play, hiding his other life from Sally (Sarah Goldberg), Gene (Henry Winkler) comparing him to Charles Manson, NoHo Hank (Anthony Carrigan) wearing a wig, the aftermath of killing Janice, and whether he’s redeemable.

“Do you think I’m a bad person?” Barry asks his acting teacher, to which Gene responds, “I think that you are deeply human, and I pray that people can change their nature. If they can’t, you and I are in deep trouble.”

Both Hader and Winkler won Emmys for their performances in the critically-acclaimed first season, which was also nominated for Best Comedy Series.

“It’s not going to turn into a show about an innocent theater student and his kindly friends,” Barry co-creator told EW after the deadly season 1 finale. “Again, I think the past always catches up. There are forces at work, and legal ramifications, and the mobsters who lost their leader and his family back in Chechnya who are going to want blood, and Moss’ partner who wants to know what happened to her, and Gene and the class want to know what happened. Barry is going to have to work pretty hard to make it all right.”

Barry returns to HBO on March 31. Watch the video above.
