Milo Ventimiglia, Kate Beckinsale, and James Corden turn Bruno Mars lyrics into a soap opera

James Corden brought a touch of that “24K Magic” to “The Bold & The Lyrical,” his Late Late Show series in which he turns the lyrics of famous singers into overly dramatic soap operas.

This week, Bruno Mars‘ discography served as the inspiration for a tale of a woman caught between two lovers, with performances by Corden, Kate Beckinsale (Amazon’s The Widow), and Milo Ventimiglia (NBC’s This Is Us).

It follows the tradition set by the Taylor Swift and Katy Perry soap operas. “Uptown Funk” becomes an intense slap-off and “Locked Out of Heaven” turns into a jab at a man’s cheating girlfriend. Ventimiglia also slips in a line from Lady Gaga’s “Shallow” because, understandably, it’s been stuck in his head.

Who does Beckinsale choose in the end? Cue the dramatic music.
