Animal Kingdom season 4 gets May premiere date, new trailer

Smurf is back as the leader of the Cody family … but how long will she be in charge?

That’s the question at the center of the new Animal Kingdom trailer, which sees the Cody family doing what they do best — stealing things — all the while J is scheming about how to take over the family business. The TNT series — which stars Ellen Barkin, Shawn Hatosy, Ben Robson, Jake Weary, Finn Cole, and Sohvi Rodriguez — is heading into its fourth season, and EW can exclusively reveal that the series will return to TNT on May 28.

And when the show does return, former Bones star Emily Deschanel is set to recur as Angela, the former best friend of J’s deceased mother (and a recovering junkie) who’s looking to get back into the family’s good graces. But, like most things with the Cody gang, that’s easier said than done.
