Jamal has an idea — and opposition — in Empire exclusive clip

What’s the cure for losing your fiancé? Well, for Jamal Lyon, it’s going on tour!

In an exclusive clip from Wednesday’s episode of Empire, Jamal pitches the “Hakeem and Jamal Lyon Resurrection Tour.” Argues the middle Lyon son, “It gets people’s minds back on what’s most important, and what’s most important at Empire is music.” Lucious and Cookie are on board, but new partner Giselle is against the idea, saying Empire is no longer Lucious’ “personal playground.”

Just as the Lyons have returned to Empire, the disagreement looks to set up a potential battle inside the company, with Lucious telling Giselle that her ownership stake gets her a conversation — not the last word.

“Shift and Save Yourself,” which airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox, comes the day after all charges related to Jussie Smollett‘s alleged staging of the attack against him were dropped. While Smollett, who plays Jamal, received support from his TV mom Taraji P. Henson following Tuesday’s news, his future on the series is still up in the air as the actor was previously removed from the final two episodes of the current fifth season.
