Look who's ready to don the military stripes again.

EW has learned that David James Elliott will reprise his JAG role as Navy Capt. Harmon Rabb Jr. for a multi-episode arc on NCIS: Los Angeles. Elliott will first appear in the May 12 episode, "The Guardian."

Here's the official description from the show: "The NCIS team uncovers ISIS sympathizers who look to be planning an attack on US aircraft carriers. The terror threat will result in Callen [Chris O'Donnell] and Sam [LL Cool J] working directly with Rabb, the XO Captain on the USS Intrepid."

Elliott played Rabb from 1995 to 2005 on JAG, which followed uniformed lawyers in the Department of the Navy's Office of the Judge Advocate General. The show was a mammoth hit for CBS because it ended up spawning NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, and NCIS: New Orleans.

"I was really excited to get a chance to work with David again," executive producer R. Scott Gemmill said in a statement. "I did the first four seasons of JAG with him so to be able to work together again in and of itself is great, but to do so with the same character on our show this many years later… that's pretty damn amazing. Bringing Harmon Rabb to work with NCIS: Los Angeles makes for a formidable coalition, and both entities are going to need all the help they can get when confronted with the greatest challenge of their careers."

Since leaving JAG, Elliott has appeared on Scoundrels, CSI: NY, and Secrets and Lies.

NCIS: Los Angeles airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET.
