Modern Family: See the first look at Haley's wedding — or not?

Season 10 of Modern Family has been a doubly eventful one for Haley, as the Dunphy daughter learned first that she was pregnant… and then later found out that she was pregnant with twins. On Wednesday’s episode, after a false alarm on the labor pains front, Haley (Sarah Hyland) impulsively proposes to her ex-ex (so: current boyfriend) Dylan (Reid Ewing) in a decidedly unromantic spot: the hospital parking lot. The spouses-to-be then decide to elope in deep secret, but when they go over to the house to enlist Alex (Ariel Winter) as their witness, Claire (Julie Bowen) catches wind of the operation. Let’s just say that she has big plans for their (once-)small wedding.

Warning: This scene contains bagpipe music, canine sex, packing peanuts, a technological fail resulting in an elderly fall, and many raised voices. The question you might be asking yourself after watching this clip is: Will Haley and Dylan actually get married on Wednesday night?

Indeed, there’s been a lot to swallow this season. Earlier this year, Haley took a few minutes to digest the reality of her situation after an ultrasound revealed the two-for-one surprise. “A baby with two hearts?” she asked the doctor. “I didn’t know I was pregnant when I ate that brownie.”

Modern Family airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET. This will not be the last season of the Emmy-winning comedy after all, as ABC ordered an 11th and final season back in February.
