'NCIS: LA': Here's a first look at David James Elliott's appearance

Navy Capt. Harmon Rabb Jr. certainly fits in nicely with the dudes of NCIS: Los Angeles.

EW has obtained an exclusive first look of David James Elliott, who is reprising his old JAG role in several episodes of the hit series. He will first appear in the May 12 episode titled “The Guardian.”

Here’s the official description from the show: “The NCIS team uncovers ISIS sympathizers who look to be planning an attack on US aircraft carriers. The terror threat will result in Callen [Chris O’Donnell] and Sam [LL Cool J] working directly with Rabb, the XO Captain on the USS Intrepid.”

Elliott has already wrapped his arc on the show, as evidenced by a tweet he sent Thursday.

Elliott played Rabb from 1995 to 2005 on JAG, which followed uniformed lawyers in the Department of the Navy’s Office of the Judge Advocate General. The show would become particularly important to CBS because it ended up spawning NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, and NCIS: New Orleans.

CBS also announced that Catherine Bell will also reprise her JAG role as Lt. Col. Sarah “Mac” MacKenzie in the season finale of NCIS: LA on May 19. Here’s the official logline for Bell’s episode: “As the NCIS team tries to uncover a complicated network of ISIS sympathizers who look to be planning an attack on US aircraft carriers and possibly worse, Hetty (Linda Hunt) has to call in a favor to an old friend, Lieutenant Colonel Sarah “Mac” MacKenzie, to help get access to an elusive Russian diplomat.

NCIS: Los Angeles airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET.
