Tensions rise between sisters Hunter and Joey King in preview of their first Life in Pieces scene

The list of sisters who are actresses is a long one, but few have actually worked together. Audiences will get to see Hunter and Joey King do exactly that this week on the CBS comedy Life in Pieces, as younger sister Joey (The Act, The Kissing Booth) guest-stars alongside series-regular Hunter in the second part of her three-episode arc (airing Thursday at 9:30 p.m.). In EW’s exclusive sneak peek of their first scene together, Morgan (Joey) thinks a family gathering is boring and starts hitting on Tyler (Niall Cunningham), husband of Hunter’s Clementine.

“Clem, stop. It’s not a good color on you,” Tyler tells his wife, referring to Clementine’s brewing jealously after Morgan says she feels connected to him.

“You know what would be a good color on me? Red,” Morgan taunts, running her hands through Tyler’s auburn hair.

“She is not even my type,” Tyler assures his wife — funny, of course, because the sisters bear a definite resemblance. And it’s driven home by Angelique Cabral’s Colleen — who, along with husband Matt (Thomas Sadoski), may be adopting Morgan’s baby — as she enters the kitchen after their awkward exchange. “You know what? You two looks like twins,” she says lovingly, unaware of what just transpired.

“Filming those scenes were some of the funniest days,” Hunter, who also stars on CBS’ The Young and the Restless, previously told EW. “I will just never forget the things Joey would be pitching to me. I cannot wait to watch that scene. I cannot wait to see the relationship between Clementine and Morgan on camera, what it turns out be, because behind the scenes we had so much fun.”

“This girl is going through a lot, but also her circumstances are pretty silly and the people she gets wrapped up with happen to be the funniest family in the world,” said Joey of her pregnant teenager Morgan (oh, and whose boyfriend is the brother of her baby’s dad!), “so she’s just kind of rolling with the punches and navigating her way and keeping that attitude that she has.”

Long a dream of the sisters to work together, they hope this is just the first of many opportunities to share the screen. “Anyone reading this that has any kind of pull, Hunter and I wanna work together more, so put us in your sh—,” Joey joking pleads with Hollywood.

Watch the two in action together in the exclusive clip above, and see more when Life in Pieces airs Thursday at 9:30 p.m. on CBS.
