Westworld season 3 sets premiere date for March

Be afraid, be very afraid.

Westworld will return for a third season on March 15, the HBO show’s official Twitter account announced Sunday night.

It also released a short video teasing an ominous trajectory involving the concept of “Divergence.” The timeline began with the Hong Kong protests that erupted in June 2019 and predicted future events like “ecological collapse” in May 2020 and the start of the second Russian civil war in 2037, and ended with a “critical event” on Feb. 27, 2058.

The series has teased fans with what they can expect from season 3, including a new teaser in November. Comic-Con in July also saw the release of a trailer and more details from the cast. From what we know, the new season comes after the aftermath of the android host rebellion and escape from the Wild West theme park into the real world.

Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul joins the series as a construction worker in near-future Los Angeles with a robot co-worker named George who meets Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood). Fellow returning stars like Jeffrey Wright, Thandie Newton, Tessa Thompson, and Ed Harris will welcome newcomers Vincent Cassel, Lena Waithe, Scott Mescudi (a.k.a. Kid Cudi), Marshawn Lynch, Michael Ealy, and more to season 3.
