Angus Cloud's cause of death revealed as accidental overdose

The Euphoria's actor family announced in July that he had unexpectedly died at 25.

Authorities have determined that Euphoria actor Angus Cloud's unexpected death at 25 was the result of an accidental overdose.

Cloud's death was caused by "acute intoxication due to combined effects of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and benzodiazepines," the Alameda County Coroner's Office confirmed to EW on Thursday.

The news comes two months after Cloud's family announced on July 31 that the actor had died at their home in Oakland. "As an artist, a friend, a brother, and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways," they said in a statement.

Cloud's loved ones also noted that he had "intensely struggled" with the recent loss of his father, adding, "Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."

Though he had never acted professionally before landing his Euphoria role as Fezco, a kindhearted drug dealer, Cloud was a rising star in Hollywood at the time of his death. His other screen credits included the films North Hollywood, The Line, and Freaky Tales.

Euphoria star Zendaya previously paid tribute to her late castmate on social media, writing, "Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus (Conor). I'm so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm kind eyes and bright smile, or hear his infectious cackle of a laugh (I'm smiling now just thinking of it)."

Euphoria creator Sam Levinson also said in a statement, "There was no one quite like Angus. He was too special, too talented, and way too young to leave us so soon. He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God Bless his family."
