David Morrissey gets tormented by a sports mascot in Inside No. 9 clip

Television doesn't get more entertainingly fiendish than the British show Inside No. 9, whose fifth season debuts March 17 on the subscription service BritBox. Created by Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton — two of the folks responsible for the similarly macabre The League of Gentleman — the series is made up of self-enclosed tales whose only common denominator is the number nine. Well, that and the high likelihood of terrible things happening to some or all of the characters involved.

"Inside No. 9 is a unique show that has become a fan favorite because of its genuinely unexpected twists,” says Soumya Sriraman, President of BritBox, in a statement. “Anthology series remain just as popular as ever, and we are looking forward to many more seasons of this particular one on our platform.”

Guest stars appearing in the upcoming season include Jenna Coleman (Victoria, Doctor Who), Maxine Peake (the UK version of Shameless) Fionn Whitehead (Dunkirk), and David Morrissey (The Walking Dead).
