Stranger Things sets the stage for a Vecna-Eleven showdown in season 4, Vol. 2 teaser

Here's what we found out about the final two episodes of the penultimate season from Netflix's Geeked Week.

Now that we know what the Stranger Things gang is actually going up against in season 4, let's take a peek at how it all will end.

Netflix dedicated an entire day of its virtual Geeked Week preview events to its flagship series, including a teaser trailer of the final two episodes of the penultimate season, packaged together as Volume 2.

The events of Vol. 1 revealed Vecna, the new threat to Hawkins from the Upside Down, is really Henry Creel, the first psychic child that caught Dr. Martin Brenner's (Matthew Modine) attention — otherwise known as One.

Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) came to realize she faced One once before when she was younger, but blocked out the memory. After he massacred just about everybody at Hawkins Lab, she inadvertently opened a portal to the Upside Down and locked him away for decades, during which he became warped into the demo-creature known as Vecna.

Jamie Campbell Bower portrays both One and Vecna on the show.

Now, in Vol. 2, it looks like we're getting a rematch between Eleven and One/Vecna. "It is over, Eleven," he tells her. "You have freed me. You can't stop this now."

Vol. 2 will bring episodes 408 (running at 1 hour, 25 minutes) and 409 (2 hours, 19 minutes) to Netflix on July 1.

"It's just this massive, massive climax," series co-creator Matt Duffer told EW of the finale. "Not to say it's all action, there's a lot of action in it, but there's a lot of big, emotional character moments."

"[There are] character reveals, there are also big plot reveals," Ross Duffer added. "I mean, episode 7 is the big, big one with Vecna, but we have a few big, more surprises to come."
