How Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki said goodbye to Supernatural after the series wrapped

Although they were able to finish filming the series, the process of saying goodbye had to be tweaked in order to ensure the safety of everyone involved. That's all to say that there wasn't a wrap party.

So, in order to get a goodbye of sorts, stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles made separate plans. "Jared and I wrapped on Thursday, and Saturday night he and I went to one of our all-time favorite restaurants, just us, and toasted with some champagne," Ackles says.

It had been their annual tradition. Every season, they'd grab dinner before they started filming. "We'd go out and have dinner and just catch up and talk about the series and talk about our lives," Padalecki says. So this time, they added a meal to the end of their season. "This was kind of our farewell dinner," says Padalecki. "It was pretty awesome just to sit there and catch up and go like, 'Alright man, we did it.'"

As Ackles says, "That was our wrap party."
