Elizabeth Debicki's Princess Diana keeps William and Harry close in first look at The Crown season 6

The final season of the British royal family drama costars Dominic West as Prince Charles, Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, and Khalid Abdalla as Dodi Fayed.

Princess Diana is destined, and doomed, to be the focal point of The Crown season 6, part 1 — and the Diana-portraying Elizabeth Debicki heavily featured in just-released, first-look photographs, which you can see below.

Netflix announced earlier this month that the streaming service has split the sixth and final season of Peter Morgan's drama into two sections, with part 1 premiering Nov. 16 and part 2 following Dec. 14.

Season 6's first part is comprised of four episodes and depicts the relationship blossoming between Diana and Khalid Abdalla's Dodi Fayed before a fateful car journey has devastating consequences.

"I think it's a really unique challenge as an actor, to portray those days," Debicki said in a quote provided by Netflix, which the actress gave in May of this year, prior to the start of the SAG-AFTRA strike. "I really just trusted in Peter's emotional blueprint that he created for us to follow. It's his interpretation and I think it made emotional sense to me, so I clung to that. Because, obviously, it's devastating and it's fraught and we can never know."

Part 2 continues the saga of the Windsor family across six more episodes. Prince William tries to integrate back into life at Eton in the wake of his mother's death, the Queen reflects on the future of the monarchy with the marriage of Charles and Camilla, and viewers will also see the beginning of the William and Kate relationship. In these concluding episodes, Ed McVey plays Prince William and Luther Ford portrays Prince Harry while Meg Bellamy takes on the role of Kate Middleton.

The Crown tracks the reign of Queen Elizabeth, who died last year on Sept. 6. Season 6 was in production when the news broke that the monarch had passed away at the age of 96. "I'd just flown to Barcelona to shoot my first day of season 6," West told EW. "When I arrived in the hotel, one of the assistant directors said to me, 'Have you heard the news? The Queen's very unwell.' I went up to my hotel room and I just watched the telly for three days and then went home. We didn't shoot at all, out of respect."
