The Falcon and the Winter Soldier continues Cap's legacy with new trailer

Watch the first full-length trailer for the show that returns Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the upcoming Disney+ Marvel series returning Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, finally got a full-length trailer by way of the jam-packed Disney investors presentation on Thursday.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige previewed the new show, which sees Sam Wilson (Mackie) contemplating what it means to pick up Captain America's shield. Cap himself gifted him the vibranium weapon at the end of Avengers: Endgame, but as Sam says, "The legacy of that shield is complicated."

The footage takes us all over the world. We see Sam and Bucky Barnes (Stan) heading to the neon lights of what could very well be Tokyo, as it's similar to when we saw Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) tearing through gangsters with a sword. And in addition to the return of Baron Xemo (Daniel Bruhl), there's also a new threat on the scene, a group of adversaries in masks.

"People need something to get behind," Bucky tells his friend. "They need a symbol."

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was initially supposed to be the first live-action Marvel series on the Disney+ docket, but in the ever-shifting climate around the pandemic, that will now be WandaVision, premiere this January. This show will now premiere on March 19 next year.
