Who is Crocodile on The Masked Singer? Here are all the clues it's this famous boy bander

And this time, they're taking over The Masked Singer... sort of. After looking at all the clues, EW is convinced that one member of popular boy band The Backstreet Boys, Nick Carter, is under the bright fuchsia Crocodile mask. Let's look at the proof.

In the first package, the colorful reptile is seen sliding down a Slip 'N Slide, and here's a little known fun fact about Carter: he appeared in the 1990 film Edward Scissorhands as a boy playing on a Slip 'N Slide. He also mentions crooning, making people swoon, and growing up in the limelight, which all check out for a boy bander.

Crocodile also informs us that he's "happiest in water," and Carter is a big fan of boat racing. There's some Vegas vibes in that first package as well, and Backstreet had a bestselling Vegas residency titled Backstreet Boys: Larger Than Life. There's also a pineapple, which could refer to his famous '90s hairstyle of the same name, and an Italian flag, which could either refer to the fact Carter is part Italian or to the 1970's Italian comic strip coincidentally named Nick Carter.

The second clue package really cemented Croc's identity for us, though. The package starts off at a house with a 5 on the door that has an American and pirate flag out front. Growing up, Carter was one of five siblings, and he is a huge fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (he even has a tattoo in honor of the team), which would explain the pirate flag. The oranges in the home's backyard could refer to Florida, where Carter grew up.

And, after his second performance on the show, his "childhood clue" was revealed to be a piñata filled with dolphins. Carter has long been a friend to the dolphins and sea — he founded Nick Carter's Oceans Campaign in 2001 to help raise awareness about the ocean and he was appointed U.N. ambassador of the Year of the Dolphin in 2007.

The best evidence yet, however, comes in the form of a little anecdote Crocodile gives about his father not believing in him. After he earned his first $100, he gave it to his father, who then cried "actual crocodile tears and believed in me," he says. Fans were quick to point out that the same story appears almost verbatim in Carter's autobiography Facing the Music and Living to Talk About It.

So, there you have it. This fancy reptile has to be none other than Nick Carter in disguise. It's another Masked Singer case closed.
