The View cohost Sunny Hostin injured while doing split after 2 glasses of wine: 'Audible crinkling'

Hostin described the sound of her torn hamstring as a "crunchiness."

The View cohost Sunny Hostin rang in her 55th year on Earth with a signature high pony on top and and a torn hamstring down below.

The talk show's legal expert and permanent panelist revealed Friday on her birthday episode that she celebrated her big day while grappling with an unexpected injury she sustained while doing splits at home with her kids.

"I'm feeling good. I still feel like I'm in pretty good shape, I feel like I've got good knees, I can still do splits. I have proof of it, I did a split just last week," Hostin told her cohosts. "However, then, my children challenged me last week, and I said, 'Of course I can do a split!' I now have a torn hamstring."

Ana Navarro asked what everyone was thinking when she inquired, "How many glasses of wine into it were you, before you did it?" to which Hostin responded: "I was two."

"That ain't sober," Navarro quipped, before Hostin continued with her story.

"I was warmed up, and I was actually going to do a split here and my husband is shaking his head," Hostin said, before the camera cut to her spouse, Manny, who sat in the audience for the live broadcast.

Earlier this week, Hostin first revealed the injury on an episode of the show's Behind the Table podcast, where she even described the sound she heard when she realized she was hurt.

"I hear like a little, audible crinkling, or like a crunchiness," Hostin told executive producer Brian Teta. "I was like, 'Help me get up!'"

The news comes one month after Hostin's son, Gabriel, sustained serious injuries when he was hit by a car while riding an electric skateboard.

"He got hit by a car, and he flew over the hood of the car, and because he was not wearing the helmet that I bought for him the only way to kind of protect his head was to land on his right shoulder, which he dislocated and we believe is somewhat fractured," Hostin recounted on the podcast in September.

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
