The White Lotus creator teases 'supersized' season 3: 'It's going to be longer, bigger, crazier'

"I don't know what people will think, but I am super excited," Mike White tells EW.

Get your passports ready, because it's almost time to head back to The White Lotus.

Creator Mike White tells EW that he hopes to start filming season 3 of HBO's vacation drama "at the beginning of the year," pending the resolution of the SAG strike.

"I'm seriously finishing scripts," White says while speaking to EW about the upcoming animated film Migration, for which he wrote the script. "Still waiting to be able to cast. If the SAG strike isn't resolved soon, then yeah, we'd have to push again because the show has a new cast every season, so there's lots of parts to cast ... I'm more than eager to get going."

The third season of The White Lotus is reportedly set in Thailand, but production has been put on hold due to the resolved WGA strike and ongoing SAG strike. So far, only season 1 star Natasha Rothwell is attached for the new season. All other details have been kept under wraps ... until now.

"It's going to be a supersized White Lotus," White reveals. "It's going to be longer, bigger, crazier. I don't know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that's a good thing ... I'm super excited about the content of the season."

White previously stated that he would be open to bringing other characters back, like Connie Britton's wealthy tech CFO Nicole Mossbacher or Greg, Tanya's (Jennifer Coolidge) greedy, duplicitous husband played by Jon Gries in seasons 1 and 2. "It would be easy to just be full-on anthology, but I think it's more fun to have little threads through the show," he said. "If the show goes on for a couple of seasons, it would be fun to have an all-star season."
