Let’s say your family in Hillsboro wants to eat healthier meals and you want to support local farmers. But how do you do that on a budget? Or... You're a grass seed farmer in rural Washington County and you're concerned about crop insects and disease. How do you find trusted best practices? Or … You want to grow your own food in Tigard. But where do you start? Who do you turn to? Your local Extension Service, of course!
What's "Extension"? You've probably heard of Master Gardeners and 4-H. That's Oregon State Extension! But OSU Extension has so many more amazing programs and resources to help people make informed decisions about real-life challenges, nurture our great state's ecosystems, and play a vital role in Oregon's communities.
You see… Our teachers, researchers, and trained volunteers work alongside partners across Washington County to provide educational workshops, activities, and services that meet the needs of our unique industries, natural resources, and communities. And most Extension resources are free! Such as one-on-one conversations with experts, our Publications Hotlines, Online classes, and Website, and... our youth development clubs and activities.
