Get On The List

A previously unreleased Prince performance is to be aired on Sirius XM

An unreleased Prince radio show which was recorded in 2005 is set to finally see the light of day and be aired tonight on Sirius XM.

The two-hour show features songs ranging from his entire back catalogue up until that point as well as some clips from interviews over the years and will also play some of Prince’s favourite artists.

The show is a conceptual demo that Prince created for Sirius Satellite Radio in 2005, during his album campaign for ‘3121’, and comes alongside the launch of a new dedicated Prince Channel from SiriusXM, which will play music from across the star’s catalogue for a limited time.

Other channels launched by Sirius XM include specifically curated channels with the likes of David Bowie, Prince, Fleetwood Mac, Rolling Stones, Metallica and more.

“It’s like catching lightning in a bottle for SiriusXM to be able to offer authorised channels from these iconic artists, not only to our subscribers, but at a time when our app is free to everyone,” said SiriusXM president and chief content officer Scott Greenstein in a statement.

“These channels, combined with our already incredible set of artist-dedicated channels, make SiriusXM the ultimate audio destination to bring fans closer to the artists they love, and at a time when people can use some great music.”

DJ Rashida, who will host the show, said: “I don’t think anybody knows that it exists other than the people who directly worked on it or were there while we were working on it, it’s such a trip listening back to it just now.”
