Isha Ambani

Isha Ambani, the only daughter of Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s richest man, has always been associated with her father’s sprawling Reliance Industries empire. In recent years, however, the McKinsey alum with a Stanford MBA has moved into official roles within the Indian oils-to-telecoms conglomerate. In August 2022, the senior Ambani named Isha head of Reliance Retail Ventures, a fast-growing division that includes e-commerce platforms such as JioMart.com and earned $28 billion in revenue in the latest fiscal year. A year later, Ambani nominated Isha and her two brothers to the Reliance Industries board. (Shareholders are expected to approve their seats in November.) The patriarch is determined to set up an orderly succession for Reliance, India’s largest company, but it’s still unclear whether Isha or one of her brothers—or a combination of the three—will take the reins.
