Jennifer Piepszak
As co-CEOs of the Consumer and Community Banking unit, Piepszak and Marianne Lake (No. 23 on this list) are responsible for one of JPMorgan Chase’s most lucrative divisions—one that brings in just under half of the firm’s revenue. At the same time, they are spearheading the megabank’s biggest acquisition since 2008. Lake focuses specifically on payments, lending, and commerce within the division, while Piepszak oversees the bank’s branches and its wealth management business. A veteran of the firm with three decades of experience, Piepszak moved to the co-CEO role after serving as JPMorgan Chase’s chief financial officer. The pair are now wrestling with one of their biggest challenges yet: supporting the acquisition of the assets of California-based bank First Republic, which JPMorgan Chase bought for more than $10 billion in May 2023 after First Republic was shut down by regulators.
