⬇️ How will Roberto de Zerbi carry over his football philosophy from Brighton & Hove Albion to new club Olympique de Marseille? In the Premier League and Ligue 1 in 2023/24: - Both teams excelled in build up play, although Brighton set up much narrower and were more resistant to the opposition high press. - Brighton rarely looked to play forward passes in transition, while OM were more likely to win the ball back and counter quickly. - Out of possession, Brighton set up primarily in a high block & made more tactical fouls in transition. Marseille, on the other hand, spent most of their time in a medium block, whilst showing a weakness at defensive second balls. #BHA #OM #EPL #Ligue1 #DataAnalysis

How will Thiago Motta adapt his Bologna style to new club Juventus? ⬇️ - Bologna were a medium block, possession-based side last season - They were 1st for press resistance and runs coming short & spent longer periods in build up - Bologna also showed more physical intensity out of possession - Juve on the other hand, showed much more intent playing forward in transition from a low block #Bologna #Juventus #SerieA

Adam Wharton to @scoutedftbl: “I love wrapping passes through to the number ten so they can turn and drive at the defence.” Since Wharton came into the Palace XI, he leads the team for passes breaking the midfield line & successful difficult passes. #EPL #CrystalPalace #Wharton

🏴📊 Kaoru Mitoma featured in exactly 50% of matches for Brighton this season in the Premier League. Tactically, how did his absence affect BHA's style? ✅ With Mitoma: - More efficient finishing - Improved build-up and more 1v1s - Better off-ball movement and overlaps - More threat in behind ❌ Without Mitoma: - Defend less in low block, press more efficiently BUT win ball back deeper - Play more through lines #BHAFC #PremierLeague

Comparing Arsenal and Manchester City's playing styles in the Premier League in 2023/24 ⬇ - Arsenal show slightly more intent on attacking transitions - Man City were slightly more in control on defensive transitions due to their counterpress - Physically, City have a huge bias towards intensity without the ball, resting with the ball in their long periods in build up - Both teams press aggressively and high but Arsenal are more happy to drop off into a low block as well - Arsenal make more overlaps, City more runs in behind #EPL #Arsenal #ManCity #DataAnalysis

How did Oliver Glasner improve Crystal Palace from a tactical/data perspective in the Premier League this season? - In possession Palace improved in build up through a less direct approach to breaking lines - They also ranked 4th in the league at receiving between the lines under Glasner - They showed less intent playing forward on transitions when compared to Hodgson but committed more tactical fouls to prevent the opposition breaking - Under Glasner they changed to a back 3 and played slightly higher and more compact - They also improved in defensive duels - Physically Palace showed more intensity out of possession and ranked 2nd in the league under Glasner for overlap runs #EPL #CPFC #DataAnalysis
