The Brent Seabrook hit on St. Louis Blues captain David Backes was bad enough and earned the Chicago Blackhawks defenseman a three-game suspension today.

But there also was some nasty trash talking from the Blackhawks as Backes was stumbling around the ice. Someone shouts “Wakey, wakey Backes and then repeats, “Wakey, wakey.”

Totally inappropriate. Considering that the NHL has a concussion issue and there are three lawsuits pending against the league, it’s beyond belief that someone would say that.

Update: Brent Seabrook has been suspended three games for his hit.
