28-year-old Corey Brewer, a player who has a career scoring average of 10 points per game, dropped 51 on the Houston Rockets Friday night. Brewer went 19-of-30 from the field in 45 minutes (including a half-court buzzer-beater to end the first half), and the Timberwolves beat Houston in a thriller, 112-110. Brewer was just as surprised as the Rockets.

“You know how many guys scored 50 in the NBA? I never in my career expected to score 50.”

Brewer torched the Rockets in transition — most of his shots seemed to come with around 20 seconds left on the shot clock.
