The Tampa Bay Lightning had a crucial goal taken away from them on Sunday night because of goaltender interference, denying them a chance to take a lead in Game 3 against the Montreal Canadiens.
Naturally, Lightning coach Jon Cooper wasn’t happy, but was very diplomatic during his news conference after the 3-2 loss, pointing that while he might have disagreed with several calls during the game, everyone is human.
Of course, he had to be diplomatic because criticism of officiating can lead to a hefty fine.
Then Cooper found a way to get his point across while still toeing the line.
Jon Cooper: “We only scored three goals — I mean two — and they scored three.”
