Michael Jordan has never been this happy about owning the Bobcats

Just two seasons ago, the Charlotte Bobcats won seven games and finished the season with the worst record in NBA history, and they followed that up with a 61-loss year to land in the lottery for the eighth time in nine years of existence. Michael Jordan acquired the team in 2010, but in his first three full seasons as owner, the Bobcats averaged just over 20 wins.

Times are changing in Charlotte, though. The team will become the Hornets later this year, but the final year of the Bobcats has been a successful one. Led by Kemba Walker, Charlotte knocked off Chicago 81-96 in overtime in front of 17,627 home fans at Time Warner Cable Arena. Jordan’s club finished the year with a winning record (43-39), and enter the playoffs as the East’s 7th seed, where they have a date with the Miami Heat. Finally, MJ has cause to celebrate.
