Paul George has gone fishing

While it may seem a bit surprising that this is how Paul George would spend his off day during the NBA playoffs, a bit of background from a February story by USA TODAY Sports’ Jeff Zillgitt:

George is not all business. He takes time to have fun and is an avid fisherman. He grew up fishing California lakes and reservoirs and lives on a large reservoir where in the summer he fishes for perch, bass, catfish and trout.

“In the summer, I’ll go every day. I was on my dock fishing every day,” George said. “Some days we’ll have off, and I will wake up to a fishing pole.”

Pacers guard George Hill lives down the street and sometimes times swings by in his boat to pick up George for an afternoon on the water. “He will tell you I’m a better fisherman than him. If he tells you any different, he’s lying,” Hill said. “But he is good. This summer, we’ll be out there more. We’re both getting bass boats this summer. We want to start a fishing tournament.”
