Lambeau Field and Packers fans give the greatest military tributes

There were military tributes all around the NFL on Sunday, as part of the league’s Salute to Service campaign that honors the brave veterans of the United States. But no stadium did it better, or bigger, than Lambeau Field. While military members were on the field for the national anthem, more than 80,000 fans helped spell out a message of thanks, along with depicting a symbol of freedom, prior to the Sunday Night Football matchup wih the Chicago Bears.

One side of the stadium read “thank you military,” while the other read “thank you veterans.” As if that coordination wasn’t impressive enough, fans then flipped over their signs to spell out “land of the free” and “home of the brave.”

The sign-board stunt was put together for USAA, which was responsible for other memorable displays at Lambeau.
