Juninho scores brilliant half volley goal to win MLS Conference Final

The Los Angeles Galaxy headed to Century Link for the second leg of the Western Conference Final against the Seattle Sounders carrying a 1-0 lead.

The Sounders scored two goals in the first half, giving them a 2-1 lead overall, placing the Galaxy in seriously hot water. However in the two-leg playoff model, goals scored away from home count double. Also, whoever finishes the second leg with the most away goals wins, so all the Galaxy needed was one goal to completely turn things around, even if, on the night, they would be down by one.

Enter Juninho.

A crossed ball trickled out of the box to a lurking Juninho about 20 yards out, and he rifled it in off the post on a gorgeous half volley to get the Galaxy right back in the mix. That gave the Galaxy the lead on away goals and tied the aggregate score, 2-2.

The Galaxy hung on to secure a trip to the 2014 MLS Cup Final.
