According to a Thursday ESPN report, LeBron James and teammate Kyrie Irving had a heated exchange following the Cleveland Cavaliers’ loss to the Utah Jazz.

Both players shot down the rumored rift between the two of them.

James denied that the exchange ever happened at all.

“Those reports are untrue. We have not had a verbal exchange. But I understand that negativity sells. No one wants to hear a good story. Those reports are not true — very false.”

Irving, in his own flippant and sarcastic way, claimed that the exchange had absolutely nothing to do with the 100-102 loss. He said that the two got into it over TV show preferences.

“It was over Survivor’s Remorse and Family Guy. That’s what it was about. Obviously, he’s going to feel strongly about Survivor’s Remorse. It’s his show. But I I love Family Guy. … Words were said. No blows this time. But it’s awesome for our team.”

The Cavs are off to a dismal 1-3 start, but when you take a point guard who’s never really had to play like a point guard, and bring two more superstar players who are used to being their team’s primary scoring option; one of which is almost indisputably the best player on the planet; it’s going to take some time to figure out an offensive system that works. Remember the start to the Miami Heat’s 2010 season?

Irving and James say they’re fine, and we’re just going to have to trust that. For now.
