Wide receiver Steve Smith was penalized for holding in the fourth quarter of the Ravens’ game against the Titans on Sunday. After the game, instead of apologizing for the penalty, or trying to explain it, he instead called out the Titans’ linebacker (it appears to be James Anderson) for being soft and the Titans for lacking a strength and conditioning coach.

Smith comes off looking ridiculous here. Yes, you body-slammed a linebacker, but you had a slight advantage in the fact that the linebacker was not expecting to be body-slammed. Because it’s, you know, illegal to do so.

As for calling out the Titans’ strength and conditioning coach Steve Watterson, you leave that man alone. It’s not his fault you got called for the penalty.
