Pavel Datsyuk is called a wizard for his ability to keep the puck on his stick as he whirls through the opposition.

He officially has competition in Detroit Red Wings teammate Gustav Nyquist.

Nyquist held onto the puck for 28 seconds Saturday as he skated circles around the Ottawa Senators in overtime on Saturday night, shaking off two defenders before wristing a shot past Craig Anderson for a 3-2 victory.

Goal of the year? Here is competition from Alex Ovechkin and Vladimir Tarasenko.

Nyquist made the amazing effort seem like another day at the office.

“You know you have a little bit more space out there on four-on-four and the other guys did a good job creating space for me and I had a good screen in front,” he told reporters after the game. “It’s tough to defend when you have a lot of room and you can protect (the puck) on the outside. I just tried to hold on to it as long as possible to get a good shot off and it worked.”
