Current San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh has long been rumored to be Brady Hoke’s replacement at the University of Michigan, and the Wolverines are desperate to pry him away from the West Coast. Michigan reportedly offered to make Harbaugh the highest-paid coach in football, and even publicly wished Harbaugh a happy birthday on Twitter.

Harbaugh, for what it’s worth, would not address the rumors on Friday — but one of his closest friends may have spilled the beans. Dave Feldman, a sports anchor who has known Harbaugh for decades, tweeted early Sunday morning that Harbaugh to Michigan is a done deal, and that the new coach will be introduced Tuesday.

The Michigan Wolverines’ basketball team opens the Big Ten season Tuesday at home against Illinois, and a number of message boards have been spreading the rumor that Harbaugh will be introduced during the game. Again, Harbaugh to Michigan has not been confirmed, and that Harbaugh will be anywhere near the Michigan-Illinois game is pure speculation — but since news broke that Harbaugh is expected to become the next coach, tickets to the game have quadrupled in price.

As of 11:30 a.m. Sunday, the cheapest ticket to the game was $129.89. You can get tickets to most Michigan games for about $30. The cheapest ticket for Michigan-Wisconsin is $66.
