Lauren Hill understood that she couldn’t beat her own cancer, so she set her sights on a different goal: helping others with the disease.

Earlier this fall, Hill caught the attention of the nation — including LeBron James and Devon Still, whose 4-year-old daughter has cancer — when she realized her dream of playing in a college basketball game.

And the 19-year-old, who has an inoperable brain tumor, used the spotlight for a great cause: raising money to help find a cure for pediatric cancer.

Today, Hill reached her fundraising goal: $1 million.
