Lauren Hill, the Mount St. Joseph’s basketball player battling terminal cancer, was told that she wouldn’t live beyond December — but she dressed for her first true home game Saturday night and scored the opening basket. Hill scored in two road games earlier this year, but she was able to finally take the court in the Harrington Center in front of more than 2,000 fans.

“I’m kind of overwhelmed with the support. It just really… it touches my heart, and I’m so happy that I’m able to touch everybody else’s heart. It just makes everything so much more special, and it makes that basket more special.”
